Our Christmas Shoot

I got a new remote for my camera for Christmas, so I figured I'd go ahead and try it out on some Christmas pictures for the hubbs and I.

Test shot that actually turned out pretty great!

This is the new tree skirt we got this year to match our stockings from Pottery Barn that we got a couple years ago.  The tree skirt is embroidered with our last name and we absolutely LOVE how it turned out.  I thought it'd be a lot of fun to use it as a "blanket" in the picture.

Christmas Tree and Bokeh Shots

I finally was able to take some quick Christmas pictures before we decided to take down the tree.  I love the first one with the lights so bright.  It looks like I have the tree covered in lights, and guess what, it's nothing more than the usual couple of strands.  Love, love, love!! :)

My husband helped me make a homemade heart shaped lens cover out of construction paper so I was able to do some bokeh shots.  Still haven't quite perfected it, but below is one of the heart shaped Christmas tree lights.

Wedding shoes

Lazy, rainy day at home, and decided to shoot some pics of my wedding shoes with our rings, since we weren't able to get any on wedding day.  I'd say they turned out pretty nice.... :)

Photo Session: Ben and Emily Engagement

My brother-in-law and his fiance contacted me to do their engagement session after having a horrible experience with a previous photographer.  I was super excited to head out to a new location, Lake of the Woods, in Mahomet.  I found a waterfall there while exploring and knew it would be a PERFECT location for them.

Photo Session: Jenni and Mark Anniversary Session

A couple months ago, I took family pictures for Jenni and she asked if I would come back to Indy to do some Anniversary photos of her and Mark.  I LOVE their tradition of taking anniversary pictures each October.  They're so cute!!!  I just love them to pieces!  And Mark was being so ornery during the day and I actually got a couple of really cute ones of him.

Congrats on 5 years of marriage you guys!!  Thanks for allowing me to be a part of this memory!!  Hope you like the pics.

I love how the sun shines on this one!!!!  Gorgeous!!

This is in Downtown Indianapolis by the canal.  Such a beautiful area!

Who knew waterfalls existed in a downtown city setting?!?!

My FAVORITE from the day!  Their face are adorable!  You can FEEL the love!! :))

Second Favorite ;)

They look absolutely freezing in this one!  Did I really torture you guys that much?! :)

See... ornery!!

Why I LOVE Photography

When I was driving home today from work, I was thinking about all my upcoming photo shoots and got super excited!

I think a lot of the excitement is because I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE photography!  It's always been a lot of fun for me, and if you really enjoy something, it never makes it feel like work.  Plus, I've always had a good eye for photos... it was just a matter of getting the right camera to go along with my skills.  I'm doing photography for ME and for those who want lasting memories.

I love the idea of capturing special moments.  Times that are easily forgotten without a picture memory.  It's the newborn photo session that really reminds us of how tiny that newborn baby truly was.  It's the smile on a bride's face that reminds an elderly couple how they felt as newlyweds.  It's remembering the feeling and never forgetting.  After all, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Here's to pictures, to fall, to pumpkins and to gorgeous fall pictures with pumpkins!!!!! :))
